A program offered to individuals on a sobriety journey and their pet
In an ongoing effort to promote healing from addiction, Serenity Paws is dedicated to Project Recovery.
This program bridges the gap between individuals on a sobriety journey, and their ability to care for themselves and their pet/service animal while also giving each individual the opportunity to be self-sufficient through a paid apprenticeship with Serenity Paws.
Since 2013, Serenity Paws has been an advocate for sobriety and healing. Our name, Serenity Paws, was given to us by a young lady, (Katheryn D) who knew the recovery path well. Her dedication to helping herself and others battle addiction and navigate healing also aided Angela Katie Bonham. In the beginning stages of opening the business in 2009, the name came from the renowned prayer that is the centerpeice of our journey, The Serenity Prayer.

Dear You,
By providing a safe place to board your pet/service animal so you can enter treatment and a journey of healing our hope is to aid in your success.
Additionally, Serenity Paws recognizes that some added challenges faced by individuals who are trying to overcome addiction are often:
unswerving employment from those who understand the journey, transportation, and lack of funds needed to pay for things needed to support a successful recovery.
Add to the list of obligations that are difficult to complete in the situation is; where can your pet/service animal be taken so you trust they will be here for you along the way? Right here.
Serenity Paws will make sure your companion receives care from a licensed veterinarian in order to be compliant with state regulations. Your pet will receive an annual exam, administration of mandatory vaccines, grooming, meals, training, adequate exercise, and upon request, spay and/or neutering services. You may use the boarding services as needed and during your journey for as long as you are committed to the program.
Do you need a place your pet can go while you enter a center for healing? When you are finished at a treatment center, do you need support and employment with an employer who can encourage you, assist you, stand by your side, join in your battle as an ally, fight for your dignity, protect your privacy, and pray with you and pay you?
Many employers lack the understanding and flexibility it takes to make sure they can offer a schedule that allows you to follow through with obligations to fulfill requirements like drug testing, courses, counseling, therapy, and court dates all the while having a safe place to keep your companion while you take this life changing journey.
In addition to boarding and daily care for your pet/service animal, Serenity Paws and their affiliates will offer each individual(you) the opportunity to obtain skilled training specifically for employment in the grooming industry. If you elect to participate in the paid apprenticeship, Serenity Paws will provide a driver for transportation to get to and from:
work, sobriety courses, treatment, drug testing, court dates, therapy and other court ordered obligations.
If you choose to be employed by Serenity Paws during your journey, Serenity Paws and their affiliates will cover any ongoing cost of classes, and any court ordered drug testing and/or therapy courses. An individual must work a minimum of 10 hours a week in order to qualify for ongoing benefits of the program and they must be able to comply with drug testing and strict policies and procedures set forth by Serenity Paws in an ongoing significant effort to keep everyone safe.
Participants do NOT have to have any kind of formal prior training. They do not need to have any college education, High School Diploma or a GED. They must be able to pass frequent and random drug analysis testing and be dedicated to the healing process for themselves and others.
They must have a basic understanding and knowledge of reading, writing, communication,
Your companion is welcome to stay for the duration of your journey.
** You do NOT have to be employed by Serenity Paws to take part in the project or utilize the services in order to enter rehab or treatment- it is just an added opportunity offered to you.
