Fox tail and spear grass season can be year-round, however, this is mostly seen during the months of July through October.
Watch closely for this type of grass/seed especially if you are in a heavily vegitated area.
They have a pointy spear-like head and a spiral-like tail that allow them to burrow into your dog.
These grasses are found in unkempt areas and along trails, and they can easily attach to long coats and work their way into the skin of your pet.
If left untreated these seeds can cause festering wounds.
We highly recommend shorter styles if possible to combat these grasses as well as to keep your furry friend a little cooler when the temperatures are above 65.
